Uncle Darth wants you to playtest the new Star Wars Battlefront

Star Wars Battlefront Star Wars Battlefront may not be coming out until the holiday season, but some lucky fans will get their hands on it early with playtests that are open to any and all applicants next week. EA posted a call for playtesters on its Facebook page on April 1, and thankfully it does not appear to be a joke.
Playtests will be held at both EA Canada near Vancouver and EA Redwood Shores near San Francisco, all day, next Friday, April 10. Sessions will last for three to four hours, with various time slots available over the course of the day. And as if the chance to take an early peek at the hotly-anticipated game isn’t reward enough, EA will be compensating its playtesters with two of the publisher’s games of their choosing. Selected playtesters will be notified via e-mail.

If you live near Vancouver, British Columbia, you can sign up here to be considered for the playtest at EA Canada’s Burnaby location. If you live in the San Francisco Bay area, you can sign up here for the test being held at EA’s Redwood City, California studio.
Star Wars Battlefront is the long-overdue revival of EA’s series of first- and third-person military shooters set in the Star Wars universe. Duck behind walls to dodge blaster fire from storm troopers, weave through the massive trees of Endor on a speeder bike, or work together to take down a massive AT-AT walker in a wide variety of exciting Rebel vs. Empire scenarios.
Although various spin-offs came out through 2009, there has not been a proper entry in the Battlefront series since 2005’s Star Wars Battlefront II. Battlefront III briefly entered development in 2008, but was soon cancelled. This upcoming installation follows in the footsteps of recent revivals like Tomb Raider and Devil May Cry by dropping the number in order to signal a fresh start for the franchise
