Five April Fool’s Day pranks: Pacman on Google Maps, Uber Supercars and more

Over the years, we’ve seen how tech giants have been trying to show their light side with classic pranks on April 1 to celebrate the Fool’s Day. This year seems to be no different. From Google to Zomato, all seem to be in a fun mood. We’ve jotted down five such cool April Fools pranks today.
Pacman on Google Maps
Google knocked it out of the park with its Pacman doodle a few years ago, which proved to be one of the most appreciated doodles ever, which also led to a drop in productivity. And in a welcome April Fool’s treat, the search giant has brought back the game in a much bigger and more exciting avatar. Now you can play Pacman across streets, in any country of the world, thanks to Google Maps, which has literally converted earth into a Pacman playground. Maps now allows users to play PacMan on real streets.
To start playing, users have to click on the PacMan symbol seen on the lower left corner of the screen. It then allows you to play the game on your current location. However, a popup will alert users if the location doesn’t have enough streets to play, and allow them to select any random location.
Smartbox by Inbox

Google has yet another classic prank up its sleeves with the new Smartbox for Inbox. Driving on its new Inbox for Gmail feature, the company has announced the Smartbox for Inbox in its official Gmail blog. With Smartbox, Google transforms the traditional mailbox into a cool piece of technology with gesture control. It clearly mocks the traditional box stuck in the ground out of your homes and shows how we’ve moved it. The Smartbox for Inbox also gives senders of physical spam mail an electric shock and more.
Uber supercars
While Uber may have been in news lately for all wrong reasons, that hasn’t stopped it from pulling out an April Fool’s prank. Interestingly, the company has announced the availability of on-demand supercars from 2PM to 4PM today.

Google seems to be on a roll this April Fool’s Day. Not exactly a prank, but just check out what happens if you type in com.google in the browser. Well, the search giant displays the words, results, images and just about everything backwards.
Moto Selfie stick

Motorola has annouced a new selfie stick, which is nothing else but a prank. The video is a total giveaway as it starts with a man scrapping a big log of wood that is then used to build  the stick. It describes the stick as an ‘extension of who you are as a person’. The video also says the selfie stick will bring joy to everyone just ‘like the sun turns the rain into a rainbow’.
Besides, you can also check out other pranks like Chromeselfie, Zomatcho app and Google Panda.
